mallowstreet University Dinner: Cashflow Driven Investment

Many UK DB schemes today, while in funding surplus, now face the prospect of becoming cashflow negative in the next decade. This challenge, combined with ever-decreasing liquidity in credit markets and rising transaction costs, as well as regulatory changes, means that it is not surprising that 2018 saw substantialy increased interest in the potential benefits of adopting cashflow driven investment approaches.

With billions of pounds now flowing into such strategies each year, and with long-dated investment grade assets being chased by maturing UK pension schemes and insurers alike, AXA's Cashflow solutions team will discuss some of the important considerations and challenges of designing and implementing a flexible yet cost-effective solution to meet a scheme’s overall strategy and cashflow needs.

The speakers will delve behind the scenes and share insights on the challenges in executing efficiently for their clients over the past year – credit market dynamics, sourcing attractive opportunities, liquidity management – all the while maintaining a relentless focus on minimising transaction costs.

Over dinner, complemented by a selection of AXA Millesimes wines, we will discuss ways to design sustainable cashflow strategies and will seek to address some of the important considerations in delivering active, long-term solutions to service your cashflow needs of tomorrow. We look forward to hearing about your views and experiences, and will also share with you the findings of our latest CDI survey of your peers.
