mallowstreet University Digital Roundtable: How to Embed ESG into Your Risk Management Framework

In this session, we will look at how one can embed ESG metrics into one's risk management framework using new technology.

The ESG themed regulations will have an ongoing impact on institutional investment practices. These include the effects starting from ESMA, MiFID II and the Paris Treaty through to the recent Department of Pensions consultation responses and the rules surrounding UCIWTS and AIFMD.

We will address the "hard to get" data / need for disclosure paradox through our approach and illustrate how you can find rich ESG data on most companies, we will show you the level of disclosures currently being made by corporates across different sectors.

A key challenge for investors is being able to extract the correct data and to be able to use this to produce ESG risk reports with emphasis on early warning detection.

With the use of some fascinating case studies (Facebook, Wirecard and Boohoo), we will examine Permutable's approach to ESG including:

- Measuring ESG alignment

- Introduction to ESG risk and creating an early warning signal model

- Comparing a portfolio to its benchmark

- Monitoring and reporting

This morning session is accredited for CPD points by the Pensions Management Institute (PMI) and is exclusively for pension fund decision makers.
