Even though I use SOFI, I still jot down notes in my notebook in a meeting – but in a different way. I’m no longer furiously trying to get every point down in writing, I’m just flagging the key moments. I can now actively listen, which is hugely liberating and hugely effective.
Let’s think about questions. We all remember questions from a meeting. It forms the basis of any follow-up. I can even connect questions I’ve had a cross a few meetings to try and draw out common themes. But as a human, my recall is poor, at best patchy, and quickly degrades over time. SOFI changes the game when it comes to making the most of questions.
Recently we ran analysis on questions across a number of my meetings over a period of several weeks. The findings are striking.
For the first time ever, I can clearly see enquiries grouped by theme and understand how people are asking something similar but in different ways. Furthermore, I can see which questions are consistently coming up in my meetings.
