The Pensions Dashboards Programme has put back a deadline for implementing daily reporting of data to the Money and Pensions Service to 1 March 2027, after the industry expressed concerns. Some manual reporting will be required from this autumn for directly connected organisations. 

The PDP ran a consultation on the proposed approach and deadline for daily reporting via an application programming interface early this year, in which it proposed a mandatory deadline for all parties of 30 November 2026. This has now been delayed by three months until the start of March next year, subject to formal approval. 

In its response published earlier this week, PDP said some respondents felt the timeline was “very compressed, leaving little room for any issues that may arise through the journey causing delays” and complained of a lack of clarity about the testing and implementation process. 

Many also highlighted that much depends on how quickly government agency MaPS could provide stable technical and testing information and materials, and if it has capacity to support directly connecting organisations through the testing and assurance process.  

Since then, PDP has made the test harness available and said it is on track to support integration testing by the end of June, adding: “It remains our intention therefore that all parties should be able to report daily before the end of November 2026 and we remain fully committed to supporting this.”  

This means that although the mandatory deadline has been postponed, PDP wants voluntary implementation to begin this summer, with some manual reporting, in the form of file uploads, to be required from the autumn for those that have not yet implemented daily reporting. It said that this will ensure visibility of key reporting data as early as possible.  

Updated reporting standards (version 2.2) have been published and are expected to be approved this year.
