Ostrum Asset Management has appointed three portfolio managers to strengthen its insurance management expertise. Its Insurance and ALM Solutions team now has 26 experts dedicated to insurance portfolio management in Europe.

Sonia Berrejeb joined as equity portfolio manager in February, bringing more than 17 years of experience in European and international equity markets to the firm.

Berrejeb was most recently a convertible bond manager at Rothschild & Cie. She started her career at SCOR Investment Partners, first as a European equity financial analyst in 2006, then as an equity and convertible bond manager in 2011.

Damien Clouzeau became Ostrum AM’s fixed income portfolio manager in September, with more than 12 years of experience and expertise in insurance and bond management.

He was most recently at wealth manager Le Conservateur Gestion Valor as head of investment grade and high yield bond management. Prior to this, Clouzeau worked for AXA Investment Managers and AXA’s group insurance firms in Europe.

Karim Khemache joined Ostrum AM in January as an allocation portfolio manager in the multi-asset insurance management team. He has nearly 15 years of experience in asset management.

He joins from Generali, where he was a multi-asset fund manager and in charge of the allocation of mandates and the management of open-ended multi-asset class funds. He started his career at Amundi in 2009 as a fund manager of hedge funds.

Gaëlle Malléjac, chief investment officer for insurance and ALM solutions, said the appointments reflect Ostrum AM's ambition to become one of the top European insurance asset managers.

Ostrum AM’s Insurance and ALM Solutions division is organised around four areas of expertise: insurance solutions, multi-asset insurance portfolio management, fixed income insurance portfolio management and equity insurance portfolio management.

As an affiliate of Natixis Investment Managers, Ostrum AM manages €389bn (£343.2bn) in assets for large institutional clients – insurers, pension funds, health insurers, corporations – as well as €515bn in assets under administration for professional investors worldwide across all asset classes.
