mallowstreet and Cardano started tracking the equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) journey of the UK pensions sector in 2022. By 2024, we can comfortably say the seeds of diversity are taking root well beyond gender and age. We see increased representation from many underrepresented groups, including: professionals from ethnic or cultural minorities, primary carers, those with disabilities, long-term conditions or neurodivergences, as well as those who identify as LGBTQ+. However, crucial steps are still needed to ensure the industry does not lose momentum and continues to create inclusive teams and a vibrant pipeline of new, eager talent dedicated to ensuring good member outcomes.
